Welcome to Cafe la Dada, a hidden gem in the heart of Himeji, located just a stone's throw from the bustling Himeji Station. This cozy café is renowned for its inviting atmosphere and delightful culinary offerings that cater to both locals and travelers looking for a comforting bite. With an eclectic menu featuring hearty dishes and indulgent desserts, it's the perfect spot to unwind and savor the flavors of Japan.

The café boasts a range of mouthwatering options, including savory pasta dishes, flavorful curry rice, fresh salads, and warming soups. A highlight is their breakfast set, which includes a delicious almond butter toast that has quickly become a favorite among regulars. But don’t overlook their desserts! Patrons rave about their waffles and ice cream, creating a sweet finish to any meal. One of the standout treats is the famous ichigo Napoleon pie, featuring multiple layers of flaky pastry, generous creamy filling, and a bountiful serving of sweet-tart strawberries — a true feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.

The ambiance at Cafe la Dada is equally charming. Its small, intimate space is filled with a serene buzz as friends catch up and solo diners enjoy a moment of peaceful reflection with a good book. Reviews from happy customers, including Demy Rolandus Hagedoorn, praise the “fast service and cozy restaurant” vibe, making it easy to kick back and enjoy your meal. While some visitors note a language barrier with the lack of an English menu, the friendly staff are always eager to assist and share their recommendations.

Echoing the thoughts of Fernando Hatsumura, who describes Cafe la Dada as a “nice cozy cafe” with “delicious cakes”, this spot radiates warmth and community. Perfect for a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon treat, be sure to drop by and experience their freshly baked goods and specialties. However, remember that this café operates on a cash-only basis — a small reminder to prepare accordingly!

With its blend of delightful food, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere, Cafe la Dada offers a small taste of Himeji's café culture. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make it a point to visit and indulge in everything from their comforting pasta to their decadent desserts. You’ll leave with a smile, and perhaps a takeout cookie or two from their tempting selection!

Very good food! Pasta, curry rice, salad, soup, waffles, ice cream. Fast service and cosy restaurant. No english menu and difficult communication with staff

Nice cozy cafe that serves a morning set that includes almond butter on toast. Their version of this Himeji classic is a simple one, but good. They also have some cakes that look delicious. Cash only.

I had a breakfast set that comes with salad, 1 almond toast, a piece of banana, 1 boiled egg and a coffee for JPY 700. Coffee refill for JPY 200. There are pound cakes and pudim that look delicious but I didn’t try them. Nice, cozy “Showa Era” coffee shop. Accept only cash for payment.
